What Amazon confirmed
Amazon's Seller Central announcement says holiday peak fulfillment fees apply again from October 15, 2026 to January 14, 2027, with the same structure as last year. The fee covers FBA, Remote Fulfillment with FBA, Multi-Channel Fulfillment and Buy with Prime orders.
The fee is based on when a unit ships from the fulfillment center, not when the order is placed. A December order that ships in January after the 14th pays standard rates again.
How much it adds
Sellers tracking the announcement report the uplift averages about $0.32 per unit, with the exact amount varying by size tier. Small standard items pay less than the average and large or oversized items pay considerably more, so treat the average as a guide, not a flat fee.
The existing 3.5% fuel and logistics surcharge that began in April 2026 continues to apply on top. Separate peak monthly storage pricing also applies from October through December.

Why it matters for your ads
A higher fee lowers the margin on every Q4 sale, which lowers your break-even ACoS. Campaign targets set in summer can quietly turn profitable sales into losses during peak, especially on low-priced items where a few cents is a large share of margin.
Holiday traffic is the best time of year to win rank, so the answer is not to stop advertising. It is to set Q4 targets from Q4 margin and spend where the math still works.
A worked example of the margin math
Take a product that sells for $25 with a 32% margin after referral fees, standard FBA fees and cost of goods. Its break-even ACoS is 32%, so any campaign above that loses money on each ad sale. If the peak fee and storage add roughly $0.40 per unit, margin drops by about 1.6 points to around 30.4%, and so does the break-even ACoS.
On a $25 item that looks small, but across thousands of Q4 units and campaigns already running near their limit, it moves real money. On a $12 item the same increase takes more than three points off margin, which is why low-price products need the closest look.
Common mistakes sellers make with peak fees
- Leaving summer ACoS targets in place for Q4
- Running deep discounts on oversized items where the peak uplift is largest
- Shipping inbound inventory late and paying peak rates on units that could have arrived earlier
- Ignoring storage costs on slow movers that will not sell before January
What PPC Spider recommends this week
Recalculate break-even ACoS per ASIN with the peak fee and storage costs included, and lower targets on thin-margin products. Move budget toward ASINs with healthy margin and stock cover, and plan inventory so nothing runs out in December, when a stockout costs both sales and rank.
SpiderOS sets every bid cap from product margin after fees, so this kind of fee change flows straight into bidding. If you want the numbers checked for your account, our free audit includes a Q4 margin review.
- Update Q4 ACoS targets from margin, not habit
- Prioritise high-margin ASINs for deals and top-of-search
- Keep 6 to 8 weeks of cover on best sellers through December
